Meditation has been practiced for centuries, and its benefits for physical, mental and emotional well-being are far-reaching and well documented. The goal of many meditation methods is to set the mind free and allow a state of self-awareness to develop - this in turn allows us to forget about self. Whilst this may seem a bit confusing, it makes perfect sense.

Becoming aware of self allows us to stop worrying about the little things in our lives that steal our energy and cause uncharacteristic behaviour. When we are at one with ourselves we can become one with the world and all that is in it.

Zen mediation is a particular style of meditation that is induced through the focus on breathing. This is primarily to allow us to enter the meditative state in the first place, and train our brain to go into a low Alpha state. Without using any external stimulus it can take more than 10 years to properly learn to control our brainwaves and enter this state. But, by using the "Zen Meditation" audio programme you can achieve the exact same state in minutes.
